Heartfelt Thanks

heartfelt-thanks-card.jpg

I got this set in my kit, and I think I have used it twice. Why?? Because it is a 2Step Stamp. It requires a little more work. I love what it looks like though. So pulled out my Stamp A Majig and went to town. I love this little tool! It is a must have with some stamps. I really don’t like crooked stuff, and when you are working with these kinds of stamps it is hard to make them straight. I saw a card similar in the last catalog, and this is my version. It is a little different.

Sorry the picture is a little off. Still trying to master the photo thing :)

Birthday Whimsy

I have been busy!

Ok, I know I don’t post often enough for some of you out there…but the truth is, I have 3 kids and everyone has had the flu! It has been horrible and it is messin’ with “MY” time! I seem to spend my days bleaching stuff and wiping snotty noses! Not as fun as stamping for sure!! I am about to have a break down because I have cabin fever really bad. The weather is so beautiful (almost 80 degrees!!), and I just want to be outside playin’ instead! Can’t wait for everyone to be over this stuff!!

Well on to what you came for!

Valentine’s Day Projects

valentines-day-blog.jpg

I love Valentine’s Day! I love all the happiness that goes along with it. Yep, even the work! Ha! It is fun now that Lily is in school I woke her up and dressed her in a red shirt with a red bow…cute shoes, the works! Jake doesn’t seem to care, he did wear a red shirt for me. I hear people say they don’t care about this day, but I think that is sad. IT IS ABOUT LOVE!! It isn’t one persons birthday, it isn’t Christmas, it is just a day about showing people that you love them. It is two sided, I love it! I love that my husband gets me too! We got a baby-sitter and joined the rest of the fifty million people out there waiting to go out to dinner! It was a long wait, but it was worth it. I was out with my honey…and no kids!

Anyways, enough of the mush and onto the goods! :) I made these for my kids teachers, and my Visiting Teaching ladies from church. It was fun! I got the idea for the mailboxes from Nancy Riley you can check out hers here. They are so cute! The bucket I came up with all on my own. I found the buck at Walmart, and I just added ribbon and a tag to it. EASY! The valentine is just another excuse for me to do the sparkly background on something. I also wanted to use the new hostess set so I came up with the candy bag. Incase you were wondering; no I did not do these for my children’s classrooms. Too much time and they would end up in the trash. My kids would rather have the cartoon ones from the store! Strange! They don’t know what is really good! :)

Bucket recipe:White Bucket, Assorted Ribbon, Tulle, red paper filling Tools: Tag punches, Friendship Punch (Creative Memories), Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White CS.

MailBox Recipe:Mailbox (Target dollar bin), White Tulle, White 1/4 in gross-grain ribbon, Pretty in ping 1/4 in grosgrain ribbon, Chocolate chip ribbon, Circle Rhinestones (found at Michael’s dollar bin)Tools: Small Circle punch, Friendship punch (Creative Memories), Decorative scissors, Paper:Decorative Paper (Non SU), Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Real Red CS

Valentine Card recipe: Stamps: Priceless Paper:Whisper White CS, Decorative Paper (non SU) Ink: Pink Passion Embellishments:Dazzling Diamonds, Packing Tape Tools:Decorative Scissors

Candy Bag recipe: Stamps:Little bit of Happiness, Paper:Whisper White, Real Red, Pretty in Pin CS, Ink: Real Red, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion Stampin’ Write Markers

Oh, and also these are all filled with CHOCOLATE! Maybe this is my REAL reason for LOVING this holiday! :)

Enjoy

Be Happy

be-happy-card-blog.jpg

This a card that I had the ladies make at Stamp Club a few months back. I wanted to teach them how to do masking.  It is such an easy technique that makes you look like you are a pro!!

I am busy right now trying to think of what to do for club next week! I have a few ideas. Can’t wait to share them with everyone! It is much more fun making stuff when you have people to share them with!

Recipe:Stamps: Be Happy, Ink: Rose Red, Paper: Night of Navy, Rose Red, Whisper White CS, Accessories: Ticket corner punch, Three for you punch, Rhinestones, Whisper White 1/4 in grosgrain ribbon

Western Friendship

western-card.jpg

I tried to do Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge this week, but my brain just wouldn’t work, so I had to give up on that one and I came up with this one….nothing like the challenge. Oh well, I’ll try again later.  I think it is cool. I just had NO stamps to go with it. I guess I’ll have to buy some…they can go on my “NEED TO HAVE” list justified by the fact that I can’t use this cool paper without them!

Recipe:Stamps: Dotted Autumn, Be Happy, Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Creamy Caramel CS, Outlaw DS paper Ink:Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, Embellishments: Vintage Brads

Baby Card

baby-card-for-blog.jpg

I saw this layout on the Verve Visual site. They are doing a contest. I thought it would be fun to try it. I also was looking for something that would go with this new stamp!! It is very blingy! The picture doesn’t do it much justice…funny thing about glitter. I wonder if there is such a thing as too much glitter….NAAAA

Recipe: Stamps:So Many Scallops, Bitty Backgrounds, Paper: Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White CS, Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Accessories: Yellow baby buttons (non SU) Stickles (non SU)

Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #33

large-card-blog.jpg

OK, I don’t normally like what I make, and if I do like my stuff, it is when I have CASED something that someone else did. Well this time I finally came up with something all on my own…well except the layout….(does that still make it mine??) ANYWAYS! I really like this one!

I have also never participated in a sketch challenge before. I really liked this one. It was challenging making a card this big.  It is from Beate’s weekend sketch challenge number 33. I don’t think the picture does it much justice. The background behind butterflies is all sparkly with the Dazzling Diamonds. It is very pretty.

I have used this stamp set  more than any other stamp set. I think after this I will branch out a little…:)

Recipe: Stamps: Priceless (the sentiment is a retired set, not sure of the name) Paper: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Very Vanilla CS, Brocade Backgrounds, Ink: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Old Olive Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Purple Organdy Ribbon (non SU), Rhinestones( non SU)

Simple Birthday Card

birthday-whimsy-presents-bl.jpg

I made this simple birthday card for my son’s friend.  I had VERY LITTLE time to put into it, I don’t think it’s too bad. With a little more time I would have done better. I LOVE THIS SET!! SELL-a-bration!! Whooohooo!

Recipe: Stamps:Birthday Whimsy (Sell-a-bration set), Paper: Whisper White CS, non SU blue paper, Ink:Real Red, YoYo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise

see how simple…hardly used anything fun!! :)

Hope you like it!!
