Missin’ Mississippi Family

Tonight we had dinner at my mother in laws house with my husbands brother and sister. It was kind of sad  because we had to say “Good Bye” to his sister and her family. They are moving to Mississippi. We are really sad to see them go. I know that we will be seeing them in a couple of months, but it is still a sad thing. I have really enjoyed having them around for all the family stuff. My kids just love them. My 17 year old niece Chelsey and I  have gotten really close over the past couple of years. I love it when she comes to stay with me. She is such a great girl. I look foreword to her coming to visit again. Here is a picture of the two of us that my husband took tonight. Not very  flattering of me, but she is just too cute not to post it!

My Daughter Lily thinks she is as old as these girls are. This is Chelsey again and my other Niece Natalie. Natalie is 17 also. Natalie is also a great girl, so quiet yet funny!! Lily always wants to hang out with these two. She has cried many tears over their move.

I sat down to make them a card today and really felt like red was the way to go. I copied an idea I had used before, just changed it around a bit. I stamped the butterflies and lady bugs in black and then stamped them again in real red on another piece of paper, then cut out just the red wings curled them up a little, and then glued them on. I would have added a little glitter to the wings if I would have had time to let it dry, so for time sake I think this one was pretty good. Hope you like it!

Thinking of You

I am not sure what happened to the original post of this. I must have deleted it or something. Hummmmmm

Well here it is. I saw a card similar to this on Lorri’s Blog here. I loved it so I made this version for my stamp club this month. I wanted something spring-like so I busted out my Three for You punch box, haven’t used it in a while. I love the little flower punch! They can be used with almost anything. I added a little bling to it with some rhinestones I picked up at Wal Mart.

My favorite part of the night is always the swap. This is such a talented group of ladies! I love seeing what they come up with. I am always feeling a little pressured when I am designing my cards because I am worried I will disappoint! I hope I didn’t!

This is my card. It uses a stamp set that I borrowed from a girlfriend. I didn’t really like it at first, but I have seen such wonderful ideas with it I had to try it.

Kristy’s AMAZING Birthday Card!

kristys-happy-birthday-blo.jpg

I have this WONDERFUL friend who comes over every week for “private” lessons! Not really, she is in one of my stamp clubs and the other ladies tease her because she comes over and we play around with new stuff, new techniques or what ever. They say she is trying to get ahead of the rest of the class.  It is so nice just to be able to bounce an idea off someone older than 2 1/2!!

Kristy comes up with some really great stuff! She is so creative. I don’t know what she needs me for! This card is one that she made using the Birthday Whimsy stamp set from Sale a bration. I LOVE THIS CARD!! She embossed the balloons in silver they really pop out at you. This  is perfect for a 40th or 50th birthday. Since she doesn’t have a blog, I am posting for all to see!!

Friendship Bloomin’ Merci

merci-for-you-_blog.jpg

Well here is another stamp club project. I gave away my origonal so I whipped this one out for this picture. Don’t look too close, you’ll see that it is crooked! :(     Anywho…….

I Love these Sale a bration sets. I love the butterfly, and the whimsical stamp from friendship blooms! I use the one from priceless all the time, now I have another one!! :) ! I saw these little slider cards on Wendy’s Blog and I thought that my stamp club would love them too. You can also get the tutorial for this on Stampin’ Up!’s web site here. I love that they have these available for everyone each month! Some of us need some help! (me!) These are so easy to make. I also really like the pastel colors of this paper pack. To go with the pastel colors I sponged the color onto the butterfly wings instead of just coloring them with markers. I like the airbrushed look that you get with the sponges.

Well Enjoy. I have lots more coming!

Friendship Blooms Stamp Club

Sorry it has been such a long time since my last post. No excuse! I never got around to dumping the camera. :)

We made these for Stamp Club this  month. I was inspired by this card here. I just changed the paper and made it a little easier. I can’t remember the name of this simply scrappin’ kit that I used, I know it is  from the Fall-Winter Catalog.
