Cup O’ Flowers

DSC01419I did a class at church  and this is one of the cards that we made. I used the Sell A Bration DSP. The stamp is from Fun and Fast Notes, and the Thinking of You is a retired stamp from the Three for You Punch Box. I stamped the cup of flowers on Whisper White, backed with a  piece of  Certainly Celery. I colored the flowers  with Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and Pretty in Pink markers.  For the cup I used paper piecing with some of the Celery paper from the same paper pack. I used some cute little rhinestones for the center of the flowers; Then I used some Diamond Stickles for the bling on the cup.  I also used the Eyelet Border Punch for the bottom. Last but not least I used So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon for the bow.

Enjoy! Happy Stampin’!

Upsy Daisy Mojo#73

Upsy Daisy Mothers Day CardSorry that the color is a little dark on this one. I am no photo pro.  This card is another Mojo sketch. It is number 73.  I made this card for a Mother’s Day card for my stamp club. I love that it was simple but pretty. I layered Pacific Point Blue and Basic Black.  I stamped the Upsy Daisy stamp in Basic Black craft ink onto whisper White CS. I used Heat and Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds to make the flowers extra blingy. Then I punched a slit in the white and black layers with the slit punch, and used some pretty silver ribbon and a black button with a rhinestone glued to it to make it pretty. The inside is stamped with a Happy Mother’s Day stamp.

October Stamp Club

I LOVE fall. It is my FAVORITE time of year. Living in Arizona you really get excited when the weather is in the high 80’s and not the 100’s!! We break out our pants! I have NO tan at all all summer long,  I really hate to be hot, so now that the weather is nice I can go out and plant flowers, play in the park with the kids and even walk them to school. That said, I am totally in the mood to make fall cards. That is just what we did this month.

Here are the cards

The first card is inspired by this card here. I loved that she made it so simple! It really is just paper and ink. No embellishments or added layers!

Stamps: Inspired By Nature, All Holidays, Paper: Very Vanilla CS, Vanilla Envelope, INK: Old Olive, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Tools: Sponge Daubers, Stampin’ Write Markers

The next card is one that I made in a stamp club with Wendy Janson a couple of years ago. It is a favorite of mine!

STAMPS: Bitty Basics ( Hostess set), PAPER: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Orange dots from Ghostly Greeting DS Paper, INK: Basic Black, Creamy Caramel TOOLS: Sponge Dauber, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing tool, Small Oval Punch, EMBELLISHMENTS: Vintage Brads, Green wire

The last card is one that I made to show the girls how to use a sketch to make a card. I don’t know what I would do without those sketches. They really help you pump the ideas out. I have used sketch 194 several times over the last couple of weeks. It is one of my favorites!

August Stamp Club Projects

Again I am a little behind the game in posting! better late than never …right??

Here are the projects that my Stamp Club ladies made. I wanted to showcase the new IN colors and I think these cards did it pretty well.

The first Card I CASED from this card here. Since there wasn’t much to change on it and have it all still match I just changed the ribbon and the stamp itself.  This is also my second project. We made these micro bead pens. These were what everyone loved the most!

July Workshop Projects

Stamp Club has been over since may, so I decided that I had better do something! I had a workshop last Wednesday, and these are the projects that we made.

The first one is a card that I saw on Chat’s blog here. I changed the background color, and that is about it. I loved her card.

Recipe: STAMPS: Be Happy, PAPER, Wild Wasabi, Read Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, INK:Real Red, Bashful Blue, EMBELLISHMENTS:Real Red striped Ribbon, Dimensionals, Real Red eyelets TOOLS:Circle Punch, Scallop Punch

For the next card, I was again inspired by Chat! I just love her work! A while ago when I was visiting Nancy Riley, I was looking through her box of cards that other people have made (swaps and RAKS), and  I kept pulling out cards that I just loved, and they were either Lorri’s or Chat’s!… Anyway, I needed a cute birthday card and I thought this was perfect. you can see her original one here.

When I made this card for my workshop I didn’t pop up the hippo, and my balloon was just red. But My friend Kristy thought that it needed a  little more character, she did it this way and I think it is much cuter! Love the balloon!

Recipe: STAMPS: All Holidays, Pun Fun, Pick a Petal, PAPER: Only Orange, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Whisper White, INK:Jet Black Stazon, Only Orange, Real Red and Only Orange Markers, EMBELLISHMENTS: Red Mini Buttons (found at walmart) Christmas Red Stickles, Dimensionals, Wild Wasabi Striped Ribbon.

Next is a post it note holder. I think these are so cute and fun to make. Pretty simple! Here is the Dawn’s tutorial.

The next card I found on Nancy Riley’s Blog, and it seems that it has been CASED before. You can see Nancy’s card  here.

My original card had the wording placed a little better, but for this card the flower is popped up on dimensionals and I like the look of that better.

Recipe: STAMPS: Absolutely Fabulous, Pick a Petal, Priceless INK: Close to Cocoa, Apricot Appeal, PAPER: Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Embellishments: Self Stick Rhinestone, White Button, White Taffeta Ribbon, dimensionals

The last thing that we made was one of these cute Box in a Bag. You can find the tutorial for them here. They are super simple and really cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pick a Petal

Well, it is Friday and life is REALLY busy at my house this summer! We have had my niece here off and on since the beginning of June, and all three of my children have birthdays in the summer. So the summer time gets crazy. Just when I finish with one, there is another one.  On the first of July my youngest turned 3. He was so CUTE on his birthday! I love it when they are finally big enough to know what it is all about. He was so excited and singing so loud! Everything was Sesame Street because he is totally obsessed with it! My brother gave him some Elmo dominoes, and he couldn’t wait to kick everyone out so he could play with them. He carries them everywhere! He goes to bed at night still thanking us for his party and decorations! We have our second one here tomorrow. My oldest turns 10! I don’t really believe I am old enough to have a ten year old! In my head, I am still 25…(wish)! I will let you know how that one goes.

I haven’t had a chance to really sit down and stamp in a while, so last night I finally did it! I like this set. It was fun and simple! The ladybug card I saw on Nancy Riley’s Blog. It was super easy and really cute, so I had to do it. The other card I really struggled with. I was wanting something really involved, and it just wasn’t working, so I took out all the fluff and extras and found that less is more! It is simple.  I find that that happens a lot! Hope you like them!

CC160 Yep! 2 challenges in one week!!

I have wanted to do more of the challenges that they have on splitcoast, but for some reason or another, I never get the chance to. Well this week I have been working harder at it. I am also looking for some ideas for my upcoming club…

I chose this stamp because I have NEVER used it! I also challenged myself a little more by NOT looking in the gallery for ideas. There are so many and I wanted to make myself come up with my own idea. (supposed to be good for ones brain…to think for one’s self…) I made this card 51/2×51/2 to fit the whole flower. I don’t know where to find an envelope, but oh well, I’ll figure that out when I need to use it! I did the dry embossing with my crop a dile and the mat pack. I colored the flower itself with watercolor crayons, and then I went back with my aqua painter and the ink pad to add the outlining. I think these two colors look pretty together. I wasn’t as happy with them when I was adding the CS. The cameo coral is just so bright. Not my favorite. Overall, I would like to change the layout just a bit, but I am not sure how. I also would have liked to have added a sentiment, but there just wasn’t room. That flower is just so BLOOMIN’ large!

This was fun, I look forward to next weeks!! I need a challenge to get me away from doing the same thing all the time!
